- Trump announced a new federal task force called the Super Intelligence Force, chaired by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, to coordinate government AI policy and ensure American leadership in the field.
- The task force includes Federal Trade Commission chair Andrew Ferguson and Pentagon technology officer Emil Michael as vice chairs, and must deliver a report on AI risks and opportunities within 120 days.
- Clayton rejected a proposal by AI researchers including Dario Amodei of Anthropic for a coordinated slowdown in model development, saying the risk of the US falling behind other countries is too high.
