SoftBank seeks $100 billion to buy firms and add AI to them

- SoftBank, the Japanese investor, is reportedly seeking $100 billion from Middle Eastern backers for a fund that would buy established businesses.
- The plan is to buy companies that have not adopted AI or robotics and use its robotics unit, Roze, to improve them.
- The fund's financing and structure are not guaranteed, and SoftBank's finances depend heavily on its large stake in OpenAI.
