Researchers launch platform tracking actual AI model usage patterns
- Researchers from Stanford, MIT, and other institutions built AI Observatory, a public database of real conversations with AI systems across 52 different models from 2023-2025.
- The platform analyzed 24,521 chats from 5,000 users and found that companies like Anthropic remove roughly half of conversations from their own public datasets.
