OpenAI hires Cursor's Europe chief as sales VP for region

- OpenAI appointed Ismail Elmas, who ran Cursor's European business, as vice president of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in Munich.
- Elmas is the second sales executive OpenAI has hired from SpaceX in a month, following Brian McCarthy, who was Cursor's president of global revenue.
- OpenAI plans to significantly expand its European sales team as it pursues business clients and advertising revenue ahead of a potential stock listing.
