Nvidia and Microsoft launch RTX Spark, a laptop chip for local AI

- Nvidia's RTX Spark, a single chip combining Arm CPU cores, an Nvidia graphics processor and up to 128GB of memory, goes into Windows laptops from October 16.
- Nvidia says RTX Spark is twice as efficient as an Intel Core Ultra 9 with an RTX 5070 graphics card, which matters for running AI tasks on battery.
- Laptops start at $2,600 for the 18-core version, and Adobe has rebuilt Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D to run faster on the chip.
