Monitoring group says Anthropic's AI improving about twice as fast
First reported
Fast Company ran this on , a day before the other 2 sources picked it up.
- An independent nonprofit, METR, reviewed internal data from Anthropic, the company behind the Claude chatbot.
- METR estimates Anthropic's models now improve on benchmark tests roughly 1.9 times faster than before October 2025.
- METR attributes about 80 percent of that speedup to AI helping Anthropic's own research, rather than more computing power.
