ByteDance agrees to copyright safeguards for AI video tools
- ByteDance, the Chinese company behind TikTok, signed a formal agreement with the Motion Picture Association to add copyright protections to its Seedance and Seedream video-generation models.
- The deal followed an MPA cease-and-desist letter triggered by a viral deepfake of actor Tom Cruise created with one of ByteDance's tools.
