First reported

Last Week in AI ran this on , 4 days before the next source picked it up.

  • Anthropic, the company behind the Claude chatbot, says rivals are copying its models at large scale.
  • Copying works by sending huge numbers of queries through networks of fake accounts, then training a smaller model on the answers.
  • Anthropic names Chinese firms Zhipu and Moonshot, and says the copied abilities could reach foreign military and surveillance systems.
